My Pentax PD FA 100mm Macro lens was a very lucky e-buy.
Hi,
I have been a photographer, both amateur and professional for longer than I care to remember.
Whilst bidding (successfully) on a Sigma 18-50 mm F2.8 Ex Macro lens, I noticed that
the same seller had the above 100 mm macro/portrait lens on offer and as I had never had a "prime" focal length macro before, decided to give it punt.
As a long time Pentax user, It looked like a good bet at about half retail price, with a UV filter, fitted from new, plus case and original box.
I currently photograph early classic and vintage cars and need to shoot a lot of detailed close-ups of various bits of ancient but highly pictorial technology, for both web and mag use.
I also send a regular weekly freebie contribution to a local web and news magazine.
The lens came up trumps - my first 'super-close' shot of a 'forget me not' flower head, made the web mag cover picture, for the following week and although I say it myself was actually a very good shot - so full credit to the lens.
I had to 'ring fence' my bid, in a very active auction, but managed to win and have not
so far regretted a penny.
Hopefully, my subsequent pictures will be enjoyed by magazine and web readers for
some time to come.
