An old kit with old detail.

I bought this kit hoping that it might have open bonnet, visible engine etc. While having a reasonable level of detail for its scale, I was dejected to see that the kit is probably ancient, with only mediocre detail. The kit would probably suit a beginner to the hobby because they'd get a reasonable model for a cheapish price.

Getting on a bit but they are reasonably accurate and still offer great value for money.

These models of the Queen's guards are getting on a bit in age but still offer great value for money. The guardsman holds the old SMLE (short, magazine Lee-Enfield) but still offers a good, large-ish model. With a bit of work and careful painting these can be bought to life.

Haynes complete motorcycle engine kit

I have to say at the beginning that I haven't yet built the kit itself but I have studied the comprehensive amount of parts and the instruction manual; a work of art in itself! All parts look to be very well moulded, with no visible 'flash' or miss-moulding anywhere. I am very impressed with the different aspects of the kit too. These comprise plastic parts (some in a neat chrome finish), rubber belts, electric motor, electric cabling etc etc. It only needs me to build the item and I can then submit a fuller report! Nice one Haynes; another educational model kit to add to your already-comprehensive list of wares. And to think, you used to help me out on my motorcycle servicing all those years ago! Bravo!
