High School Musical (2006, DVD)

I purchased this DVD for my children (ages 4 and 7) who love the pace of this Disney musical within a musical. This particular version of the DVD allows you to set the movie with words of the songs to sing along! My girls LOVE that feature! The cast is talented and fun, and you just cannot help singing along to the words of the songs! The story line is classic teenage woes of finding yourself and doing what you love - whether it be sports or singing or academics. The stereotypes for different groups in high school really end up being shattered as they realize (and sing), "We're all in this together." Sure, this is somewhat cheesy, but the strong cast and wonderful music stand out and draw you in! Children and younger youths may be easily caught up in the fashion statements and "love" story, so talk with your children about the difference between movie fantasy and real life.

The Price of Egypt - Nashville - Original Soundtrack

"The Prince of Egypt" is one of my all-time favorite movies,and my love of country music drew me to this CD. The songs are "inspired" by the movie, not soundtrack songs, so that is an extra bonus for those who appreciated this powerful faith-filled movie version of the time-old biblical classic. This original soundtrack combines country and Gospel and is a must-have for your collection.
