Great book of historic dressmaking patterns. I have colored in all sketches now too :-)
Sketches in black and white show overall design and some close ups of detailing too. Patterns on squared paper background can be scaled up to human size and i would recommend making a cotton toile first to work out exact amount of fabrics you will need.

Love this book!
Love this book! It gives step by step instructions with clear photos and illustrations in chapters that you can work through or dip into as needed. Also I like the tips on building a folder of your work from ideas to sewing samples.

Very interesting book giving great background to WW2 influences on women and their wardrobes
Fascinating insight into impact WW2 had on women in UK and how they adapted fashions to suit changing lives. I would author to make a next edition with fashion looks, sketches and photos.
