Great stuff for modellers everywhere
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this to strip an old Revell 1/48th scale Heinkel 111 kit. The model was at least 10 years old and had been crudely painted by the original modeller. I wanted a product that would remove both acrylic and enamel paint without melting plastic. This product did the job beautifully, and it smells very nice. Left to soak in overnight it washes off with a stiff bristle brush dipped in water, taking the paint with it. It does not sting the hands, but I don't recommend leaving it on them too long. It washes off easily with soapy water. i found it took a couple of applications to remove stubborn areas, but it all went very well. Leaving small components in a tub of methylated spirit cleans the pieces further and doesn't conflict with this product. The end result was a perfectly stripped kit, good as new. Oh, yes, the Biostrip also weakens old polystyrene cement and reduces it to a rubbery goo, so the kit cracked apart very easily. Don't know about cyano, but that is brittle anyway. Only slight drawback is that clear parts will attain a slight mist, as Biostrip affects the surface of clear plastic. Easily solved by polishing back to clarity with Duraglit, toothpaste, T-cut or a 'magic' sponge and dipping in Pledge/Future..This product is THE ANSWER for stripping old kits, and the manufacturers could do themselves a favour by advertising it internationally in the main modelling magazines and websites. At my current rate of use, one tub will last for several years. Excellent stuff!!
