the story continues.....
wonderful 3rd volume of Philip Serrell's momoirs. I've said it before and I'll say it again, they'd make a wonderfully gentle sitcom/drama in the style of "all creatures great and small" or "darling buds of may".

Another excellent season in the Frasier series. Once again top quality scripts, coupled with an impecable cast makes for fantastic entertainment. 24 hilarious episodes that you have no worries in having your 13 yearold watching with you means great value.
By this time all the lead characters are comfortably set in your psyche, and no one fails to come up to expectation - even "moose" as "eddie"(the dog for those who don't know). Some of the story-lines that run through the entire eleven season run are well developed even by this third season and it is truly testament to the quality of writer and performer that some of these threads could be developed and continued through eleven seasons without the idea becoming stale (eg the Ross & Rachel thing in friends).

newsboys or new boy?
Been a fan af the newsboys for a few years now, and as with any band when the lead singer goes there is a massive change in the sound of the band. When the singer is also the main songwriter and producer you can expect an even bigger shift in musical style. So when Pete Furler left the newsboys a couple of years ago, a change in sound was inevitable.
Old school newsboys fans could be disappointed (if you were disappointed with born again) but set aside the name of the band and listen..... OK it's not newsboys as were, it's not DC talk either (Tait's old band for those who dont know), but on it's own merits still a great sounding band.
So this EP. Well it's an EP....... not a full blown Christmas CD, and this is reflected in the price. So know what to expect - 5 songs. Four cracking christmas "pop" songs (sadly for me O holy night is the only religious reference - making this more of a party EP) but Tait's rendition of "The Christmas Song" gives Nat King Cole a run for his money (according to my wife, who's a big NKC fan).
I guess we newsboys fans will just have to get used to the change in style and either like it or pass on it.
Still a great little Christmas EP to pop on and get in the Christmas spirit.
