VERY DISAPPOINTING
0 of 1 found this helpful These are two very short concerts one in 1973 and one in 1977. The 73 concert has the Davies brothers with hair so long it covers their faces for the most part. Also, if the camera zooms in on Dave, Ray is out of focus, etc.
The 1977 concert has shorter hair (Ray does a lot of singing with his eyes closed) so their faces can be seen, the lighting is atrocious! The lighting is distoring their faces and is very annoying.
I'd rather have bought 1960s black and white.
Most of the old favourites are sung and some of the lesser known songs.

Great value for money
I was pleasantly surprised at what a good mouse this is. Functions on a level with a much more expensive one.

DON QUIXOTE - RUDOLF NUREYEV & AUSTRALIAN BALLET
After seeing Don Quixote as performed by American Ballet Theatre with Baryshnikov's choreography, I wanted to see Nureyev's choreography. The local art cinema obliged and I saw this for the first time on the large screen. A lot of the Nureyev dance videos are of his later (and definitely not best dancing) phase. It got to the point that they were disappointing because as an aging dancer his footwork was not clean and no matter how good the performance the sloppiness detracted. NOT SO THIS PERFORMANCE!!! A good opportunity to see Nureyev at his very best! The animal grace and charm are here as well as very clean bodywork which reminded me why he was such a sensation. The choreography is excellent and makes sense out of the ballet. He is unafraid to show the sexuality of the young couple and also the romance of the wedding scene. One of the best, so glad I bought it, works very well on the television screen. The music is conducted by Lanchberry, and is excellent as well. The Minkus score is wonderful.
