A very handy lens
4 of 4 found this helpful I bought this lens to use with my 40D and so far have been very pleased.
Out of the box, it's build has a generally solid feel. There could be a little more friction to the zoom ring wich feels a bit too easy to work (indeed it does tend to slip to a full zoom if carried around for any length of time and there is no lock on thisd lens). Fitting the optional (lens hood is a slight clunky proceedure, but once in place it is very secure.
AF is very fast, ultra-quiet (thanks to Canons excellent USM)and impressively accurate, plus the full time manual feature lets you fine-tune when it doesn't hit the spot.
So-far so-good, but the great strength of this lens is its range. The 17mm end is terrific for lanscapes and indoor scenes; barrel distroirtion is tolerable even at the widest angle (you'll have to pay a lot more to improve here). The 85mm end gets you close enough to really pick out the detail in most object and scenes. Sharpness is good throughout the range, hand held. These attributes, combined with a very reasonable weight, has made this an ideal 'walkaround' lens for me.

Brilliantly well built and designed keyboard.
Great keyboard all round. Rick solid metal construction, useful multimedia keys and enough RGB options to keep you busy for millennia. MX between keys are perfect in my opinion. Not so twitchy you can't type accurately and a clear activation point with tactile feedback, all without the loud clickiness of blues. If the iCue software wasn't a bit of a pig to work with this would be perfect.

Running a GTX1070, this monitor has everything I wanted. G-sync runs beautifully smoothly; the 144hz refresh makes for very easy viewing and gaming; the 2K resolution is perfect at 27" (no pixel visibility unless you press your cornea against the glass!) and the IPS panel makes for glorious colours. Hard to comment on others but I seem to have won the panel lottery and got one with no dead/stuck pixels and no noticeable IPS bleed. Build-wise it was easy to assemble, has good adjustability and parts feel solid. The red stand feet are actually aluminium and don't look as lurid in the flesh as they do in the pictures. There are some good prices available on the monitor if you shop around, which makes the value acceptable despite G-Sync extortion.
