New Echo Plus does not impress
1 of 8 found this helpful I upgraded from the original Echo Dot to the new 3rd Gen Echo Dot and was quite impressed based on performance/value. I was therefore (based on reviews) thought I would upgrade again to the new Echo Plus (as a stereo pair). Overall quite disappointing, the base extension is hardly worth it (although I presume this would be improved with an Echo Sub) but if I bought that why bother with the extra size of the Echo plus?
The mid range is sadly lacking and some tracks are so quiet when just in the mid range its an embarrassing effort. The overall loudness is also disappointing.
This product does not dominate or fill a room with the only improvement in fidelity at the top end. The difference in performance in comparison to cheaper speakers such as Ultimate Ears Boom 2 is significant so overall I don't consider the New Echo Plus good value.
