Acceptable

Avoid
Priestley's writing runs the gamut from excellent ( eg " Angel Pavement " ), great but flawed (: " Bright Day " , " The Magicians " ), through the lovable if undemanding ( " The Good Companions " ) to the really awful.
" Three Men In New Suits " joins such lead balloons as " Festival At Fairbridge " & quite a few others - plodding, didactic , remorselessly & drearily polemical.
If Homer could nod, Priestly could sometimes slide into a coma - & threaten to take his readers with him.

Superlative work of scholarship & an utterly compelling read
