Compelling compilation of world music
This compilation is one in a series of Puntumayo albums directed towards children. My 4-year-old has several of these, and it's a good thing they're not vinyl albums, or they would have been work down to the groove by now. That's how much he enjoys listening to them.
Puntumayo have done a great job of selecting music that kids find compelling. Adults too, since for the most part these tunes are compiled from regular commercial albums, as opposed to albums of children's music. As a result, the music is not at all dumbed down for the kids, which I think is a big piece of what makes the music so compelling to the kids.
Really a great compilation.
