Buy it as soon as you can!!!
I lost my original copy of this but my DVD library would not be complete without a copy of this title. This is a good old fashioned Western with the goodies (Costner and Duval) v the baddies (landowners) who come to blows over the rights to graze their cattle drive on the open range (hence the title) Costner is terrific as the former Civil War scout who is pushed beyond his limits after his cattle trail buddies are attacked by the baddies. Duval is also fantastic as the old hand who tries to keep costner in check but eventually has to support Costner in the final shoot out. The love interest is supplied by Annette Benning who still looks terrific and falls for Costner. Lucky Kevin!! Definitely one to purchase and enjoy for the rest of your life - one for a winter's Sunday afternoon.

The story of a class struggle which is as relevant today as in the 1980's
I recently read another title on the Miner's Strike from the Sunday Times team. I was an active member of the Labour Party at that time and campaigned locally for miner's relief etc. I've been too busy at work to actually get into the title but hope to do so over the summer. With the current coalition in Westminster led by the Tories (the party of Thatcher) the class struggle undertaken by the miners is as relevant today as it was back in the Thatcher era.
