Using Butyl Tape to bed Deck Fittings

I'd read reports that this material was a good alternative to silicon and other products for bedding down deck fittings on a boat. I've now used it (during cold weather, I might add) to assist the fitting of new clutches, jammers and other gear on an old Westerly I'm refurbishing, and it works a treat. There are useful instructions re the use of butyl tape for this purpose on YouTube.

Perfect repair item

The local blind supplier was unable to assist so I looked on eBay and found this perfect match for the broken part. It arrived quickly; was easy to fit and the blind is now as good as new.

Replacements for use on a Bailey Caravan

Bought as replacements for our caravan, where one of the originals had mysteriously disappeared! These new ones were fitted using cable ties to secure them and have now been in place a full season, looking as good as when bought.
