Better than most of the books of the sagas of counter-earth.
Before I give the review, this is the 21st book in the Gorean saga. I cannot say whether I do or do not recommend the book to all readers. If you are already a fan of the books of counter-earth. I highly recommend it. So thus I gave it 4 stars...in comparison to other of John Normans works. It is very intriguing and a great story line. If you are not already familiar with Gor, his works are sometimes repetitive and dry with writing that is somewhat lacking in many aspects. But I already knew what to expect. But more importantly, if you are unfamiliar with the Gorean saga, one must approach all of his writings with an understanding that his books are a psychological commentary on the R-complex nature of human nature and the general thematic and very overt overtones are illustrated metaphors of this basic very dark core nature of humans. Given the social climate in 2023, it is certain to have a high controversial level. Having stated this. The society represented in Gor offers a mirror of humans. If one can get past some of the tedious parts, it will certainly evoke one of two reactions. Either the reader may fantasize they could step through this mirror into this world, or one can be glad that they cannot. However; all civilizations presented in the book were modeled after actual civilizations on Earth and one can certainly reflect on this while reading.
