There's an Old Polish Proverb That Says, 'Banacek' : A Behind-The-Scenes...

Too much numerology and alliterations and not enough about the cast or plots of the show.
I was happy to purchase this book at a good price because I've seen a few of the shows and wanted to know more about it. What I read was disappointing: way too much numerology & alliterations and not nearly enough about the plots of the episodes, the cast (save for George Peppard, which was quite good but didn't go into his post-Banacek career...I pity the fool!) and not enough pictures. What I did like was that there were inside jokes by the writers and how the stories would mention items that had happen in past episodes & would happen in future shows. If Mr. Etter had included those to his book, the rating would have been higher.
Joe Mccarthy : Architect of the Yankee Dynasty by Levy, Alan H.-ExLibrary

Great book about perhaps the best MLB manager ever!
This is a great book about Joe McCarthy, probably the very best MLB manager ever! Winning pennants with the Chicago Cubs in 1929 and NY Yankees in 1932, 1936-39, and 1941-43 and nearly two with the Boston Red Sox (1948 & 1949) and many near misses and more incredibly, never finished lower than 4th place in any season (MLB had only 8 teams in each league then). The author goes into great detail about McCarthy's playing days and managerial skills (getting the most out of his players). I highly recommend this book by Professor Levy!
Wacky Races: The Official Guide. (Hanna Barbera),

Great book but wished it had even more information (times it was on TV, for example).
This book takes me back to my youth and remembering how much I loved watching Wacky Races on Saturday mornings. I also like the mention of the spinoff series, Dick Dastardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines and The Perils of Penelope Pitstop! Classic Hanna-Barbara cartoons all@
