Animal Farm: A Fairy Story (Penguin Essentials), Orwell, George, New Book
    28 Oct, 2020
A great timeless read at a price much cheaper than most places.
Animal Farm is a gripping and timeless tale about the abuse of power. George Orwell writes so beautifully yet so simply to really illustrate his over arching themes and points. Whilst this book deals with some rather serious topics, such as totalitarian states, there are many comedic segments! I truly loved this book and will be re-reading it in the near future!

The Woodlanders (Penguin Classics),Thomas Hardy, Patricia Ingham
    28 Oct, 2020
A beautiful yet tragic tale about love and loss in a tiny rural english hamlet.
Whilst this is not my favourite Thomas Hardy novel, it does come close! This tragic story follows the course of Grace Mulberry's love affairs after returning home upon the completion of her education. Nature, love, mistakes and death run through this work much like Hardy's other stories (such as Far From The Madding Crowd and Tess of the D'Urbervilles). There are numerous passages dedicated to the enchanting description of the woodlands which connects all the central characters and serves as the primary setting where the characters met and develop their respective relationships.
