Simple, to the point. Everything else is said within.
The author not only knows her subject through and through, she creates a rounded and compelling atmosphere of Eleanor Roosevelt and the people who played a part in her life. Characters and events are vividly brought to life with personal nuances and detailed interactions that paint a colourful picture of an extraordinary life.
The book is well written, knowledgeable and very interesting.

Lively, lyrical, unusual and rich
The quality of the recording is good. The playing is lively, lyrical and rich: my favourite in this respect is track 1. Some tracks are lengthy and include a lot of repetition, which can become tedious: notably track 3.
Christopher O'Riley's interpretations are thoughtful and unusual, and well worth a listen. Some are heavily textured, which may or may not be to everyone's taste!

A great story
A very human story with biographical elements that carries the listener on an emotional journey through to the poignant end. Well cast, the characters are convincing. The story is interwoven with humour and given some dramatic license the story enhances the listener's understanding of Beethoven and his music.
I love this film, but find the sound recording a little quiet and here and there difficult to follow.
