BMW E39 5 series wagon... that's what I call "Sport Utility"!
After prowling for nearly a year I got lucky and found a well maintained 2000 528it (6 cyl wagon) with sport and premium packages. This is a great wagon for the family and driving enthusiasts as well. The sport M package lowers the wagon at least 10 mm for better handling and a more aggressive look and the firmer (not harsh) aluminum suspension tightens the handling considerably. The luxury and comfort features are wonderful but the cup holders stink. Just add a few select aftermarket cup holders and you and the family are off! The 6 cyl car has more than adequate power and seems a much better deal than the 8 cyl 540 with less costly problems. The automatic w/steptronic (available in years 2000 and on in the 528 but earlier in the 540) is marvelous allowing my wife to drive the car and myself to control the gear selection manually. A good example will serve you well with proper maintenance (not overly expensive) but an abused car will be costly to repair. Even the right car may cost you an additional one to two thousand dollars to get it all up to snuff. Afterall, this was a $45 - $50,000 car in year 2000. That's a lot of luxury, performance and technology which can be owned for $8,000 - $13,000 today (2/08)! PS: Updated 8/15/11: If you intend to keep the car for any length of time and begin to have cooling system issues (common with any of the 90's through '00's), just have the entire system rebuilt with new BMW or reputable aftermarket parts by a professional independent BMW garage or dealer... replacing it all at once may be daunting financially, but chasing one part failure after another will cost you more time, energy and money in the long run (I speak from experience)!

Replacement Belt Clip For Otterbox Defender Series for LG G3

Otterbox stamp missing and it shows...
Needing to replace my Otterbox holster (broke in half when my teen stepped on it) this was all I could find in the right size for an LG G3 phone. The body of the unit is identical in textures, shape and substance to the original, but the rotating belt clip position detentes are much weaker and the belt clip "spring" metal is very, very weak when compared to the "Otterbox" stamped original. Oh well, it is what it is...

1100 Watts peak? Where are they all hiding?
I am always on the lookout for inexpensive reasonable quality audio equipment to use for additional "zones" of sound coverage in commercial Digital Jukebox installations and applications. In attempting to research this product on-line I discovered that not just on eBay, but with seemingly all the retailers of these amplifiers, specific technical features like RMS power per channel seem very elusive for this well liked "bang for the buck" Technical Pro company's products. On this particular amplifier advertised (everywhere) as "1100 watts peak power" I have to ask where it is. Nowhere does it say that there are rear channels and a center channel. Whatever the "power" is it's dispersed among front R&L, rear R&L, center and the microphone section. Running just the fronts as stereo at full volume sounds about the equivalent of 80 watts power at most per side. For $60 - $70 delivered it is a good deal and it's nice to have the 7 band EQ but to list the amp as "1100 watts peak" is just plain marketing trickery. I guess I recommend this amp (with reservation) as long as you're aware that it's not very powerful but it is very versatile and extremely inexpensive.
