Extremely readable!
2 of 2 found this helpful Incredibly well written and researched. I love the relevant notes at the bottom of many pages to help with my understanding of people, times, events etc. Very easy to read especially considering the staggering amount of information contained there-in.
Bess of Hardwick was a truly fascinating and almost unique woman in a time when women had very few rights and I have loved reading about her life and how she achieved what she did. Mary Lovell has been very fair and even handed throughout and I thoroughly recommend this book.
