X-Files - I Want To Believe
Disappointing.
I like, and have the episodes - all of them, including the 1998 film.
Dated as they now are, with their mix of weirdness, paranoia, conspiracy, 'spookiness' and dark humour, they are still highly entertaining. And quite addictive, when you begin watching the series. So a difficult - if not impossible - act to follow.
But this latest film was flat, dull and lacked the black humour, of the various series. nothing special at all. The stars were just going through the motions, it seemed.
Even guest star, Billy Connolly (as the psychic, paedophile priest) usually excellent in straight acting roles, couldn't revive this one.
3 out of 10.
Still, it goes into my collection, to complete it.

Very poor photo quality
3 of 3 found this helpful Grain in all photos is unacceptable. On a good quality monitor, all photos show grit and grain at ISO 100 and normal colour settings. All set at maximum size and quality and dynamic range exposure. Also colourful subjects like autumnal trees, show a watercolour effect of roughness and lack of edge detail and sharpness in leaves, etc. The flash is poor, it barely lights up dim objects a few feet away. This is a shame as this camera is tiny and has lots of pre set scenes. The start up time and shutter release, are very fast and the handling is superb. Battery lasts about 100 shots. Also there is no aperture priority to obtain best focus from smaller f numbers. The flash is poor unless subjects are close.

Superb Quality!
I love this camera. I've recently bought one on eBay to replace my broken Powershot S2. The S3 is almost identical, yet if feels better and the shots are much improved even if its only 1m pixel increased. I recently bought a Panasonic Lumix fs-35, which is appalling - all grain and totally unacceptable photo quality. And the old S3 is made in Japan (not China, as the Lumix is).
I have a Nikon DSLR D3000 which is excellent, but quite heavy/bulky. Anyone wanting near DSLR quality, in a light and neat size, should look at these older Powershot S series Canon cameras, if you can get a little-used model as I have done.
