For such an old book it's in very good condition. I wish the sticker hadn't been placed on the spine of the dust jacket because it will take the paper off the dust cover if I remove the sticker. Otherwise, I'm very pleased and very happy to get this book. Thank you!

Hard to find and expensive--but totally worth it!
This is a very difficult book to find for purchase in this country. In the end, I did not get it through eBay, but ended up buying it through a bookshop in England. The photography is gorgeous and heart-wrenching. If you're familiar with the plight of Detroit for the past thirty or forty years, you might have some idea of what to expect in these photographs, but I doubt it. The artists have captured the past glory of the city as well as its current deep sorrow and decay. The book is printed in Germany so it's very well done. It's also very heavy. It's difficult to find and, when you do, the price can run anywhere from $125 to $1000, but this is a book worth keeping, if only as a reminder of humanity's tendency to destroy eventually whatever we create. If you can get your hands on a copy at least look at it. You'll be moved.
