If you need a bass envelope filter, this is a good value.
3 of 3 found this helpful I had a Mutron III back in the 70's and though rarely useful, when I did use it the Mutron sounded great. I just purchased and received this MXR pedal, based on a demo on Youtube by Ed Friedland, and I do think it sounds quite a bit like the Mutron, but has a little more control. I like the ability to dial in some dry sound so the entire signal is not affected. The Mutron has a downward slope, but I don't find that all that useful (envelope filters are only rarely useful anyway). For the money, this is damn good and looks really slick, for whatever that is worth.
