Diesel is Back!
Evanovich introduced Diesel in her between-the-numbers Stephanie Plum books. If you liked him then, you'll like him now. He's teamed up with a new woman and they're off to save the world. The ending leads me to believe this will become a new series, though it may go the way of Alexandra Barnaby...

Excellent Read!
This is the second of a three-part series, so it helps if you read 'Marked' first. The next book is supposed to be out sometime in late 2011. Naughton does an excellent job of world-building and presents Greek mythology with a modern twist. She is similar to Rhyannon Byrd in plot complexity and character development, but writes in a category uniquely her own. If you like Patricia Rice's Aelinn series, you will LOVE this!

Wait for it to come out in paperback!
I LOVED both Agnes and the Hitman and Don't Look Down, which were Crusie and Mayer's first two books together. I bought this book based on those laugh-out-loud reading experiences, and I wish I wouldn't have bothered. I realize vampires and witches are all the rage these days, but I was disappointed that these two authors jumped on the other-world bandwagon with their own brand of demons. It didn't feel like the authors were comfortable with their own devlish creations, and as a result they lost their true 'magical' touch. If you're looking for typical Crusie/Mayer humor, adventure, and sex, you won't find it here. The plot was oddly disjointed and the characters lacked depth. I was disappointed, to say the very least.
