You can't beat Bose
10 of 10 found this helpful I must have read about a million reviews before finally pulling the trigger. The thing is that there are many competitors, and they offer more affordable prices, Yamaha, Vizio, Zbox, to name a few.
I was able to hear the Bose Solo 10 in person and I knew that I wanted this system. The sound is clear, the volume is strong, the bass is existent! But I agree it is not dedicated sub-woofer level, I didn't want that anyways. The Bass is enough for me, it does not rattle the windows or thump my bedroom, but it is strong enough to appreciate. This system went into my bedroom so I didn't want something unsightly and overbearing. For breath-taking Bass, my living room/theater room system does the job with true 5.1 dedicated speakers.
This device sounds impressive! The sound stage it can create is rich and full. I love the dialogue mode. I never struggle anymore trying to make out the words in my shows late at night. Great news for the wife, I don't have to wake her up trying to hear what the actors are saying.
I had to make adjustments to my TV because the default sound settings were making this device sound too soft and dull. After changing some settings, this thing really opened up! So if your system is not sounding right, make sure to check your TV settings.
This makes a huge improvement in sound clarity, volume, and sound stage, overall it has greatly improved my viewing pleasure.
Did I mention the remote? Once I set up the correct code for my TV, this thing has worked fantastic. One remote to rule them all. Powers on my TV, controls my Nexus Player, Controls the Bose Sound System. Excellent, easy to use, very responsive. Great!
***Note: Get the right system for your setting.*** This is great in a bedroom or small living room, maybe a place where you can't mount speakers. This is not a home theater replacement. Anyone giving a bad review mentions that this is not a 5.1 replacement, to which I say "DUH!!!". There is no replacement for dedicated 5.1 systems. That said, Bose does an incredible job with its "TrueSpace" and "Soundstage" technologies. I wish I pulled the trigger sooner. I am very happy with my system.
