WD Purple 2TB Surveillance Hard Drive

Good hard drive & simple to fit

Fitted into a Swann DVR due to failure of original hard drive (possibly due to fan stopping working & hard drive overheating). I chose this due to it being a hard drive specifically for surveillance purposes & that it runs cooler. I repaired the fan whilst fitting the new hard drive (which was simple-4 screws & 2 off SATA plugs to remove from the old drive & swapped to the new hard drive) so unsure how quiet the hard drive is as the fan is small & quite noisy. Once fitted & powered up all that is required is to access the Menu-Device-then click INIT which formats the new drive & it works no problem....job done.

Small but powerful speaker

This bluetooth speaker paired no problem to my wife's smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S9) & she was playing music through it within minutes. The sound is very good with hardly any distortion at high volume,considering it is only 10W of output power. The Bass is sufficiently balanced against the Treble & the fact that you can pair it wirelessly to another of the same speakers is a good idea (although it is loud enough with just the one speaker!). The speaker works outside in the garden with the smartphone indoors no problem. Recommended....

DC 7.2-24V Electric Drill Dustproof Speed Control Push Button Trigger Switch OI

Good value & worked fine

Bought to try & repair a Milwaukee Impact Driver which was fitted with a Defond CGP-1120F 20.1RA trigger switch (18v dc). After some minor alterations to the body of the impact driver using a Dremel to grind out some plastic bits,the switch fitted ok,albeit with some gaps either side of the trigger due to being smaller in width than the Defond switch. The original LED unit was removed & the LED supplied with this generic switch was secured in place with clear silicone mastic-which worked a treat. Impact driver was tested on some fairly large wood screws & removed/replaced them easily. My only concern is the fact that the max current with this switch is 16A & from the research i did on the Defond switch the Defond can handle up to around 30-40A. I did notice the handle warming up so let it cool down before using again.For inserting/removing small screws this shouldn't be an issue but with larger screws if the handle gets warm i would recommend letting it cool down between screws.
