The worst picks EVER!
At nine bucks per hundred, I thought "GREAT!" and ordered me up a batch. When they got here, they seemed to be made of delrin--or at least something delrin-like--and their 351 profile is what I like. Took 'em to a gig the same night, and they felt like an old friend. Sounds good so far, don't it? Not so fast. At the end of our set when we were packin' up to go home, I noticed as bunch of puke-green dust on the black Ovation I was playing, the kind with the epaulet style soundholes, on the body beneath the strings. I still had the same pick I was using in my hand, and saw that the tip had completely worn off, along with about an eighth of an inch of the pick. It5 was like it had been sanded. Now, I can sometimes dig in pretty good, but wouldn't call myself a super-aggressive picker by any stretch. Bottom line: m If you like to change picks on an hourly basis and have a light-colored guitar where the dust won't show, then you might like these things. Personally, I've given most of what I had away to friends after making them sign a waiver sayin' I won't be responsible for crappy performance or illness/injury from breathin' their dust. Not recommended to nobody.

Tiny Camera, Huge Performance
This is one of the most versatile point and shoot cameras of all time. Using the auto setting lets you simply point and shoot under a wide range of lighting and other conditions and get consistently decent results. If you're a perfectionist, you can manually select aperature, shutter speed, ISO and other focal options that give you the creative control to tailor the results to your liking. As with many other such cameras, you also have a number of scene settings to cover most lighting, orientation and distance conditions. The video produces sharp 720p high def clips. Other niceties include multiple battery options (including 2AA battery with fairly astonishing battery life). The onboard memory is sufficient to store a fair number of lower resolution images, but adding even a 4GB SD card will provide more than ample storage. Image transfer to PC is quick and easy. The optical zoom is adequate at 4x and adding the available digital zoom will increase zoom dramatically, but this is probably the weakest feature on this otherwise fabulous little jewel. Recommended for newbies as well as pro's who want good shots in situations where behemoth SLR's are impractical. Surprisingly easy to use, surprisingly high quality imagery.

The Grip is a Trip
Anyone who's ever dropped a pick during a set knows how disruptive and embarrassing it can be. These picks not only articulate with the string perfectly, but it's nearly impossible to drop, thanks to the knurling on both sides of the top half of the pick.. The familiar 351 shape feels great in the hand, and the tone--especially on acoustic electric guitars--gets rid of most of the harsh scraping sounds that come through using other picks. But the grip is the trip. The pick stays where it should unless you intentionally drop it.
