brilliantly funny , an instant classic .
im writing this review after hearing the sad news of Caroline Aherne's passing from cancer , she was one of the writers of the royle family and her comedy genius will be lost forever , it just works and everyone can relate to some part of the series in one way or another which makes it even more appealing , i watched it when it aired first and then when the opportunity came to buy the complete box set i jumped at the chance , my wife and i watch an episode or two each night in bed when the kids have gone to sleep and it makes for brilliant viewing .
