Homicide
1 of 1 found this helpful Absolutely amazing character driven cop drama. Watch one episode and you'll be hooked. But who's your favourite? Bayliss the new boy, G the gruff chief, Howard the only female whose better at her job than most of her colleagues, Munch the zany guy, crossetti the conspiracy theorist.... great ensemble cast and hugely influential. Get it!

Riki? Oh
1 of 1 found this helpful Good blood, guts and fighting movie. The hero Riki/Ricky possesses big muscles, a big heart and bigger hair. Imprisoned in a brutal prison run by a regime of lunatics who store mints in their false eyeballs, have offices full of porn videos and have a quartet of psychopathic inmates who keep everyone in line.
The plus points are the amazing gory fights, the general air of insanity and the ridiculous dialogue.
The downside includes terrible acting and production values.
Watch the dubbed version cause it won't spoil your enjoyment one bit.
Best scenes: any of the fights but especially the earlier ones and the mind blowing final fight. Any scene with the 2 sexually ambiguous henchmen (one's a women playing a man and one has the campest hair ever).
While i usually hate the sentimental scenes in fight flicks in Riki oh they are pitched a such a hysterical level they add to the whole tone. Watch out for the baby blue guards uniforms too.
In short good stuff if you like gore and can ignore some truly terrible performances.

Good sequel but where's the prequel?
This is a fitting sequel to the one armed boxer, which oddly appears to be unavailable in the uk on dvd. The diverse range of styles on show and the almost constant combat scenes make it something of a classic for fans of fisticuffs. The minimal plot means there is little in the way of the infantile humour that can spoil some martial arts movies. There is also less of the mawkish sentimentality that hardened killers descend into in these things. Overall tip top not as good as the original but benefits from a shorter running time and that flying guillotine. Now where is the boxer from shantung?
