Fun and educational read
I LOVE this book! It rhymes and flows so easily! It’s fun to read and it’s educational. My 3, 6, & 7 yo enjoy it. It mentions the different terrains the pioneers crossed and the different weather and hardships they endured. It ends with the pioneer family settled into their new cabin. I will be adding more Verla Kay books to our library!

Fun and educational
I have been looking for this book since I decided our elf was gonna teach the kids about Scandinavian Christmas this year! I wasn’t having much luck finding it in my price range. I am so happy to have found it for less than $20! It is wordy so it’s not a book my young children would sit through in one sitting. My plan is to read about one Yul Lad a night starting on December 12. There are small captions on the pages to further teach about the culture and history of Iceland. The illustrations are attention holding. I definitely recommend this book to any child or adult that is interested in learning about Christmases around the world!
