Toe by Toe really works! after many years of struggling to read and write.
This is my very first ever product review. This book is an excellent resource, worth every penny and I wish I had known about it years ago! Having read good reviews about TBT I bought it for my son who is age 9 yrs(& has ADHD)and has a reading/writing ability of a 5-6yr old. His writing and reading has really taken off after only just a few weeks into this programme, and previously he has struggled continually with reading/writing in school. The main objective of this book is to get the reader to read/pronounce correctly 'non' words. Words such as 'fep' & 'tath'. There are no pictures clues as in most reading books, so the reader has to pronounce the word which they see. Later in the book the reader begins to read longer 'non' words & then onto 'real' words & sentences. My son (who really really dislikes reading & writing) is so enthusiastic to do his TBT every day and will settle almost immediately to do it. 10-15 mins a day is recommended. Last week my son included a four syllable word in a piece of writing.....that's the first time I've seen him write like that! As a mum it puts a lump in your throat to know that your child now has the potential to reach a reading/writing level alike to that of their peers.
