Not Safe

I got this to heat wax for accordions. Before using it, I put a meter on it to see if it the ground lead is actually connected to the case. It is not. The problem is in the way they tried to ground it. They bring the ground lead to between the bottom plate and the case, but they neglected to scrape the paint off of the case before screwing it all together. And even if they had scraped the paint off, there's still the problem of the way the screw is attached. I know how this stuff works, and I've fixed it to my satisfaction. I'm concerned that the target market for this wax heater is the female "hygiene" industry and will be used by low paid and unskilled workers. My hope is that no-one is injured by this device. If you must use one of these, and if you are unable to have the ground fixed, be sure to stop using it if you ever receive any kind of electric shock when touching it. For sure DO NOT USE it in an area where it may get wet, or where the floor may be wet.
