Nut cracker for all soft hard shell nuts pecan English black walnuts Made USA II
    15 Nov, 2017
    Great Product
I bought this to crack Shagbark Hickory Nuts, one of the hardest nuts out there, and it does a beautiful job on them. With a little practice you can learn to crack the shell on any nut without the nut shattering. Experiment with where you place your nuts on the cracker and the amount of pressure you push the handle down with. I also place my nutcracker in a small plastic dishwashing tub while shelling so the cracked nuts and associated shell fragments are contained and don't make a mess. This item is fairly expensive, however it appears extremely well built and should last a lifetime or more. Note: This is not a toy or decorative item that you'd want to leave out on your coffee table during the holiday season. It is a serious tool to efficiently and easily crack the hardest hickory, black walnut and other hard shell and softshell nuts. I gathered about 8 gallons of hickory nuts this fall and was not looking forwards to shelling them using my old method which involved a hammer, channel lock pliers and a cement block!!!
