Paddle does not have enough floation to activate switch with slowly rising water
This switch has a serious flaw. The paddle does not have enough flotation to reliably actuate the switch if the water is rising slowly. I installed the switch correctly, with no interference from any objects on the bottom of the boat. I tested the switch with the boat on the trailer by pouring 5 gallons of water quickly into the boat. The switch worked. HOWEVER, when I finally got the boat in the water, and the first rainstorm arrived, the switch did not activate and my boat was well on it's way to sinking!! I thought perhaps this was an anomaly and maybe a piece of dirt got stuck in the hinge, so I gave it a second chance. I again tested with the 5 gallons of water and the switch worked. Then the second rainstorm arrived. It did not work again! I think what is happening is the switch does not activate with slowly rising water. It needs to be "jerked" with fast rising water in order to overcome the friction of the internal switch. This situation is completely unacceptable, as I need a reliable bilge switch to keep my boat from sinking.

FTDI USB/Serial cable
After having nothing but grief with Prolific PL-2303 Windows drivers, this FTDI based USB<->Serial cable is a breath of fresh air. Works great on Windows 10 with no driver drama. High quality physical construction. Recommended.

Excellent Monitor
Can't say enough good things about this monitor. No dead pixels. Plenty of brightness, I had to turn down the brightness to 50% to get at a comfortable level. IPS panel has plenty of viewing angle, with no degradation in color balance as you look side to side. Colors are vibrant. Stand is great for a monitor at this price. Very sturdy, has nice height adjustment. Controls are on the back, but you can get used to them after a minute or two, there are dots on the bezel that show you where to push the buttons on the back. I researched 27" monitors in this price range and decided on this one, and am glad I did. I can't say anything negative, or ask for anything more at this price! I should mention I am not a gamer, so I can't comment on the FPS or response time. Seems to work fine for video though. Time will tell if it's reliable over the long haul, I've only had it a month.
