Awesome Speakers
1 of 2 found this helpful These speakers are so good that I've now bought two pairs of them so far. At their price point they are class leaders.
They are not intended as 'loudspeakers' however I have a fairly substantially sized living room and powered by a decent amp they are more than powerful enough to fill the space (and probably annoy my neighbours greatly)!
My other pair are in my bedroom in a far smaller and more intimate set up. Here, powered by a studio quality amp, the sound is really incredible and in many ways closer to the sound you'd expect from near-field monitor speakers. The clarity is superb, you hear the instruments and the space within which they were recorded fully. There is a decent dynamic range, and so when listening to classical music you can hear the various volume ranges and enjoy the space and silence left when instruments fade away.
Selling for around £50 second hand, you have absolutely nothing to loose by picking yourself up a set of these brilliant speakers. Indeed, I'm considering buying a few more pairs over time to replace older and less capable surround speakers. I'm fairly certain that when I do I will have a surround system that is truly knockout!

Pretty Good
For their price, considering that many similar products are upwards of three times the price, these are pretty good. They look slick with my nice black speakers on the top and the reflective surfaces work well to give the feel of a far more expensive product.
However, the massive difference in price does need to be accounted for and I'd say it is in the overall build. When the stands arrived the bottom edge of one of the stands had a shard of glass that had been knocked off it. I couldn't really see which one was damaged (so couldn't see much point sending them back) but you don't really expect to find glass in the packaging. Similarly the edges of the black columns are fairly sharp. I'm not sure quite what did it but at one point during the construction process I realised that I was leaking blood and had a cut across several of my fingers. My advice would be to take care as you're constructing the speakers.
Negatives aside, once you've got the stands set up they are really pretty good. There is a definite improvement in sound from having speakers on stands such as these. They look good (far better than they should at their price point) and overall I'm happy with my purchase.

Great tank bag
Solidly built bag. Plenty of room for my laptop and a pair of shoes, which is what I mostly carry in it. I haven't tested the degree to which the bag is waterproof but I Oxford are pretty good and it looks like it'll stay dry in most situations.
