Significantly better than expected
3 of 3 found this helpful The pulley block system doesn't look much in the picture and I was a bit dubious it would work, but when it arrived it was clear it was solid and well built. It comes ready fitted with 20m of 6mm corded rope, but in a four pulley system that doesn't equate to a big lifting distance - only about 2.5m - and I needed about double that. The natural direction of the twist in the corded rope also makes the pulley system prone to twisting, so in replacing the cord with a longer piece of rope (50m) I bought 6mm braided rope, which doesn't have the issue with twisting, and it worked a treat. I was using the 300kg rated pulley system and the most unexpected issue was that there is considerable resistance in the pulley system so the lower block will not descend unaided without a weight on it. Easily fixed by pulling the cord manually and placing a weight (10kg) on the lower hook to add some tension to the system. When using the block you must maintain good practice with the rope or it will become tangled and you will spend more time untangling it than doing the job - good preparation is essential. A really solid bit of kit that did the job.

10 Years? Good Start...
I needed to repaint a series of old wooden lintels and this did the trick. The first coat needed to be worked in and was soaked up but subsequent coats have gone one very quickly and evenly. I'm really happy with how it looks. A welcome positive was how easy it was to clean the brushes out - just rinse under the tap and a bit of rubbing to remove any heavy deposits. No soaking or chemical solvents required. Will up date you to see if it really lasts ten years, as claimed.
