Probably the best value EF lens.

If you're interested in portrait photography a 50mm lens is a must, and this one is simply unbeatable for the price. One third of the price of the F/1.4 lens, and image quality almost as good.

Buy this lens

Ok. If you are looking at this lens you probably already know why. It will not let you down. It doesn't have IS, but still knocks out the greatest of shots. I'm sure it's built by magic pixies in a secret factory from moondust, explaining the wonderful image quality and the high price.

Just doesn't work

Started behaving erratically when out of the box, put it down to old batteries. Replaced batteries and now although buttons work (indicating bluetooth is connected fine) the mouse cursor doesn't move at all. From reading online this is not an uncommon occurrence and quality control with this product seems poor.
