High Build Quality, Beautifully designed, amazing sounding speakers
I am the owner of a few Bowers & Wilkins floor standing speakers and have been looking to treat myself to a pair of speakers with a cabinet design similar to the B&W 800 series. I wanted quality speakers with an unusual shape for the living room. Somehow my browser introduced me to the Sonus Faber brand, which I have never heard-off until this week. A call to my Italian friends revealed that these are as famous over in Italy as are B&Ws in Britain.
Anyway, I have found a pair of Sonus Faber Cencerto Domus in a Marylebone, London showroom 2-days ago, took delivery yesterday and plug it in today. Sublime.
The build quality of the Sonus Faber surpasses my B&Ws. You can distinguish the build quality just by looking at it, yet alone touching it!
These floor standers have substantial density for their size. The leather-feel-finish wraps continuously from the front, top and the rear. I have the piano black version and it relegates the B&W veneer as if the latter were made by Ikea.
With regards to sound, the Sonus Faber does not struggle with high volumes, the tones are very warm, not flat, a pleasure to leave the music on without skipping. This is a beautifully crafted speaker, unusual in shape and materials compared with main-stream speakers, warm notes, and exudes craftsmanship. I have found a gem.
