Perfect growing up/sex education book
Although I'm not embarrassed by the subject, I found it difficult to put into words what I wanted to say and how to answer some questions and the detail to go into.
I read the book first and the content is great and even has some humour so it's easy for them to digest (pictures too). I gave it to my 9yr old to read a bit at a time to himself by my side whilst I read something else so he did not feel awkward and when he finished, we would discuss it. I would ask if there were any words he didn't understand and talk through what he'd read. It worked really well for us.
It also covers a bit about what girls experience which is a good thing for boys to understand.
As a Mum I think it is very important children learn sex education from their parents so they feel comfortable talking about it and know they can come to you if they have questions and you then know they have the facts.
Needless to say I would definitely recommend this book.
