Good helper
4 of 4 found this helpful Picks up more debris compared to other lower models. Still fairly random, although some programming means it will clean the edges of rooms and go around legs in a more efficient fashion. If you want less random movement go with 96o or 980 models. If you need more pickup power the 980 is the only roomba model out that currently has a more piwerful suction. While emptying is OK, there is a small opening that you will wind up digging clogs out of. Versus brushes on earlier models, beaters are easier to maintain. This model will eat the fringe or corners of area rugs, might be worth a couple minutes to pick smaller rugs up. Getting ready to vacuum is similar to getting ready to vacuum with an upright...will eat cords. It will push around many smaller object. Overall fairly happy. Earlier models were more like sweepers, this is beginning to get closer to an actual vacuum. If you are OK with carrying a robot to different rooms and are fine with slightly random movement, this is the most bang for your buck. The 600 models are OK if you have older rugs and no long haired family members (long hair and new contractor grade carpets were a bust for us), but the upgrade was worth it for our family. Love being able to program daily cleaning (although confused why it won't allow more) and it can find the way back to the dock if it is located in a central area without obstacles withing about 4 feet.

Useful for removing frustration, but not instant. Infants/ autistic kids
This is not an instant process and the videos may be dated, but signing with your baby is well worth the effort. I used this with my DD and at around 6 months my Mom was watching her and she started making the milk sign. My Mom was thrilled as she was able to communicate without crying. I tend to start a little earlier with the signs- to me the baby must gain a bit of memory before 6-7 months because of the instant smile that appears with the milk sign. To this day I still use some signs with my daughter. It didn't delay her talking, if anything sped it up as I was to understand what she was trying to say as she also signed the word. We avoided the terrible two phase, perhaps because of the signing. I would recommend this for any infant... perhaps most strongly for autistic or speech delayed children to remove some of the frustration. Be patient and it will pay off. BTW- I also appreciate that it is actual ASL, my DD made an instant connection with my Deaf friend as they could speak each other's language.
