A fine writer but...
Received the Hero 266 fountain pen today. Unlike other cheap fountain pens I ordered, this one did not come wrapped in foam or blister pack. However the item did not have any scratches despite the lack of protection. The body and cap are made of metal mostly, with bits of black plastic at the ends. There are Chinese characters printed on both the cap and the body. The pen writes fine, with virtually no misses. It feels quite light in the hand and glides smoothly while writing. However, the ink filling mechanism is not very practical and I find it very hard to get sufficient ink in the reservoir. The manufacturer should have gone with the standard converters found in other cheap fountain pens. Other than that it is good value, but there are better cheap fountain pens out there...

Parker in name only
2 of 2 found this helpful The steel is very poorly finished and it shows! It looks dull and not shiny at all like in the pictures. Corners have been cut when engraving the Parker logo onto the barrel as well and this results in the logo being barely visible. The section is made out of cheap-feeling plastic and the feed is slightly misaligned with respect to the nib - has there been any quality control at all? At slightly more than $12, of course this pen cannot be expected to have the same attention to detail and care taken during its manufacture as say a Montblanc, but as a Parker, it is expected to leave cheap Chinese brands in the dust. Unfortunately it does not and I possess several cheap fountain pens from Jinhao and Hero that are much better-made. There is more value to be had out there at this price (e.g. the Parker Vector). Stay clear of the Frontier, it's a Parker in name only.
