Great upgrade for a RTR brushed motor
This was an upgrade for the brushed motor in my Traxxas 4/TEC. I paired this motor with a Hobbywing Max10 SCT ESC, and this combo rocks: it is so much faster than the brushed system that came in the vehicle. I like the fact that this system is capable of monitoring motor temps. Both this motor and the ESC are well worth the cost.

The Copperhead 10 ESC with the Castle 1412 2850kv motor is a fantastic combination.
I replaced the stock sensorless 3200kv motor and the stock Hobbywing ESC in my Redcat Wendigo with this the Limited Edition Castle Copperhead 10 SCT sensored system, and the performance of the new Castle system is nothing short of phenomenal. With the stock motor the Wendigo couldn't run or accelerate smoothly at low speeds, but with the new Castle system driving an 18T pinion the Wendigo can now crawl nearly as well as my purpose-built crawlers. And the top end remains close to what it was before the swap. I now have a single vehicle that I can use for multiple purposes - a crawler when I want one, and a rock racer when I need the speed. I would highly recommend this system for anyone looking to add sensored performance to a light weight (6.5 pounds or under) rock racer or short course truck (SCT).

Nicely detailed, but directional lighting doesn't work as described in product description.
Product description from Kato is misleading: it says the lights are directional, but only when you get into the manual do you find that directional lighting only works in DC, not in DCC. For directional lighting to work in DCC a decoder is required, and there are no recommendations for which one to use or how to install one. Without a decoder both the tail lights and headlights on the cab remain on at all times. I bought this cab coach to replace my Walthers Proto cab couch specifically for the directional lighting, and I am very disappointed that it doesn't work as described on my DCC layout.
