GREAT LASER TAPE MEASURE
1 of 1 found this helpful Before I got this unit, I had a BOSCH GLM-15 basic model. It was great but had no sound to indicate the measurement has been recorded. It also had a distance limit of 50 ft. which if i was measuring a warehouse, it is useless. Additionally, it needed a battery replacement every few days. However, the BOSCH GLM-100C is everything you'd ever want in a laser tape measure.
This BOSCH Professional laser tape measure solved all the issues I had with the entry-level unit. The GLM-100C is truly state-of-the-art distance measuring device and is loaded with features. No longer do I need to buy batteries because you can charge the lithium-ion built-in battery on any micro-usb port and even comes with an a/c adapter if you don't have a computer to plug into the wall outlet. It is accurate to over 365 ft. more than any room size I need to measure. An audible beep & click can also be heard once the measurement is recorded. The best feature of all but will take some doing to learn is the Bluetooth capability to talk to your 3rd Gen. and above iPad or Android. An app can be downloaded from Bosch called "Floor Plan" which will literally draw out your room layouts as if a draftsman or architect has done it for you!
If you buy this unit online especially on eBay, make sure you tell the trader to "deactivate" the theft-deterrent security system. The unit I purchased triggers the alarm everytime I go through the security gateways of stores equipped with one even at Ralph's Grocery Store--so embarrassing! Besides that, this is the best cost-efficient device of its kind on the market!
