    Naughty Victorians
I can't remember who recommended this book but I'm really enjoying it. Whoever said the Victorians were staid could have had little idea of what wild lives they led. I sure that North Lincolnshire wasn't the only hot bed of lust in the haystacks. Of course other less exciting sides of rural life are recorded too. I don't just judge a book by its content, it must be well written. All in all its a thoroughly memorable record of rural Lincolnshire life. Once you open the book you'll find it hard to put down.
THE SUSSEX DOWNS MURDERS John Bude PB 2015 British Library Crime Classic 1936

    A classic murder mystery
These British Library reprints of 1930s crime novels are genuinely of the classic murder mystery era. This is the third book by John Bude I've read. the others were good but this one far exceeds them in both plot and execution. A real 'page turner' if ever there was one.
Crossing The Lines by Melvyn Bragg

    Third in autobiography quartet
From humble beginnings Melvyn Bragg's excellent writing takes us through life in Wigton in the 1950s. It doesn't exactly claim to be an autobiography but many believe it is. Previously I'd read his book 'A Time to Dance' I'd highly recommend both works.
