  It's a handsome jacket; but plaid, not Madras. Made by H.Freeman And Son of Philadelphia, the seller is quite right: the label is superb (plus the union and batch labels are to be found in an inside pocket). Very 'American golfer'. O'Connell's of Buffalo, New York, still sell Freeman clothing (at eye-watering prices, I might add). But Madras is cotton, rarely bleeding, more often colour-fast.
