Curious, complex and at times compelling.

Interesting and little mentioned aspect of early railway history. Conflict between early expanding railway companies with their representatives who sometimes get a bit over enthusiastic in the course of their duties. Hired gangs of 'heavies' and their leaders taking drastic action for financial reasons mostly makes for interesting history. Detailed, complex and at times a bit dry but compelling at times too. Recommended for those with an interest in early railway history and its many complexities.
