3 of 3 found this helpful I rather enjoy the dvdr. You can record a show and watch a prerecored show at the same time as well as record and watch a dvd at the same time. Once you have all of your shows recorder you can edit them. Such as cutting out the commercials and adding chapters. You can then copy them onto dvds and just like that you have a whole tv series.
The dislikes is that you have to program both the dvdr as well as what you are recording off of. The dvdr doesn't control your channels. It won't change the channels on the cable box or the tv so you must manually put in everything and be on the channel you wat to record on. And you can only watch one thing at a time unless you have a very good spliter.
The dvdr is a great machine with it own harddrive. So you won't have to miss any of your favorite shows and you can also watch live tv and fast forward or pause it. I am a very satisfied customer. The dislikes are outweighted by the benefits. Thanks and enjoy!
