Easy Fit 2 Vehicle Air Vent Mount for Garmin Nuvi 17mm ball fitting - base only

Great product - after a little adjustment.

Nice concept. Much better than the alternatives (including the official Garmin mount – which broke). Unfortunately it didn’t quite suit my car (Mk3 Mondeo): The hook was slightly too wide to fit through the vent slats, and the support legs are too short (adjustable legs would have been nice). The first problem was readily solved by squeezing up the ‘U’ hook in a vice. Only about 0.5mm was needed to allow it to fit through the slats. The second problem was solved by fabricating a new pair of legs from a strip of aluminium. As the original plastic legs were simply screwed to the body of the device, it was fairly straightforward to remove these and screw on the replacement. It works fine now.
