Always the best
Boswell probably wrote the best bio ever: Life of Johnson.
All is diaries and memos are equally satisfying, and this is no exception.
He is an extremely endearing personality, amazingly modern. He would have been awesome on TV. Always frank, eager to improve himself, highly sensitive to literature, funnily lady-loving.

Weak story about Jewish child raised by nuns in France
Very weak narrative.
How this ever won a Pulitzer is beyond me.

Thrilling book
Thrilling story.
I couldn’t put it down.
I actually bought 3-4 copies for friends interested in Holocaust survival stories.
I definitely intend to read it over again.
