"Boys Own" adventure
Excellent story line with a full range of "boys will be boys" stuff but with a strong ethical theme.
The book itself was as described but in a well used and appears to have been well loved.

A man with a God given passion
The film highlighted William Wilberforce's horror of the slave trade, and despite huge obstacles he carried on the fight. The struggle within him was the aspect which the film brought out to best effect; he was ready to quit time and again but he persevered and got the prize of the abolition of the slave trade at enormous odds. An excellent buy.

Excellent follow on to The Inferno
I had previously read a different translation and commentary of this book but I was very unhappy after having read Dorothy L Sayers version of the Inferno. This book follows on nicely and comments on events in Dante's time which brings the book to life. An excellent read.
