Awesome Leica 100-400mm for my G85
1 of 1 found this helpful This Lens is great if you need this reach. Very sharp at 100 and 200mm wide open, sharp at 300mm and good at 400mm wide open. Stopped down to F8 at 400mm is sharp. This lens can focus close at all focal lengths so it make for a great macro type shooting. I tried the 100-300 Mk II, which is fine but too soft at 300mm for my taste. Stopping down on the 100-300 MkII didn't help much either, which surprised me. This lens is much better and worth the price. The zoom ring is a little stiff but it is the weight of the glass (20 elements). But I love this lens anyways. I put black electrical tape on the OIS button to prevent accidently hitting it off and missing a shot, as it is easy to hit this without knowing it. I hate carrying a tripod around so I will never be turning off the OIS. That extra 200mm reach does come in handy with a small sensor and only 16 mp. Yeah, it is expensive, but I have no regrets now that I have it, as it is worth it.

Alinco Rocks!!!!! Great DMR Radio MD40
There are many DMR radios out there. But I've trusted Alinco for years, which is why I bought this radio. It is awesome. Is it perfect? No. But it is sure a great radio. Great Audio on Tx and Rx and loud so no troubles hearing it in a noisy environment. Display is easy to see day and night due to the 3 different color backlights of your preference. Battery last up to two plus days with ease. It is the only DMR radio that I know of that has the lowest power setting of .20mw. This is perfect for using your Open or Jumbo Spot. The radio is solidly built like a tank. I love this radio and I tried many others, but this is my favorite. But the best part is the customer service from Remtronix by Raj. He is just awesome. It has been a long time since I've had such great customer service like this. Don't hesitate to buy Alinco and from Remtronix. Raj will take care of you. I'm waiting for their new dual band DMR coming out soon.

A Case worth getting
Anyone who has a Kenwood Th-D74A and is on the fence about purchasing this case since it cost so much, don't be. I was too till it arrived to my house and immediately noticed that is was real leather and much thicker than that cheap vinyl case I'm used to buying like my Icom Id-51a uses. Since it is thicker, it will be harder at first to get it on and off, but it is getting easier slowly but surely. I feel much safer now carrying this radio without the worry of damage.
Why this isn't offered to be purchased in the USA is beyond me, but it is still worth getting even with the expensive shipping. It got here fast.
I'm glad I bought this now that I know better.
Get it as you will be glad you did.
